Talk That Talk - review:
The work horse of modern day entertainment has her fan base literally eating out of her hands. Rihanna, enjoying the hype of her rihannaNavy, has delivered her sixth album in as many years if we subtract the Chris Browne year.
Rihanna, over the past month, has teased her fans to the point that they literally counted down the minutes to the release. Her release of 'We Found Love', before the release of the album, was a master stroke which saw the single rocketing to number one on over 12 charts, including the Billboard hot 100.
And if feed back is anything to go on,the fans are not disappointed. The album offers something for everyone from the purist to the extremist.
Of note is the absence of songs in the low register. It is evident from this album that Rihanna is better suited to high pitched songs.
"Talk that Talk" is typical Rihanna and begs controversy and criticism of her explicit sexual overtones.
Roc out, We Want Love, Farewell, Drunk on Love and Where have you Been will no doubt be the singles to watch. (Jerome Davis; Nov. 2011)

RIHANNA KEEPS DOMINATING HOT 100
Posted by Rodrigo• Added on November 23, 2011 - 02:31 pm
Rihanna tallies a fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “We Found Love” (featuring Calvin Harris), while she makes history on the Digital Songs chart with a little help from friend Drake.
“We Found Love,” the lead single from Rihanna’s sixth studio album, “Talk That Talk,” released Monday (Nov. 21), spends a fourth week at No. 1 on the Digital Songs chart with 211,000 downloads sold, down 6%, according to Nielsen SoundScan. On Radio Songs, the track lifts 3-1 with 129 million all-format audience impressions, up 14%, according to Nielsen BDS, granting the title Airplay Gainer honors on the Hot 100 for a fourth consecutive week.
“We Found Love” is Rihanna’s ninth No. 1 on Radio Songs, the second-best sum after Island Def Jam labelmate Mariah Carey‘s 11 dating to the chart’s inception 21 years ago.
It’s a historic week on Digital Songs for Rihanna, who becomes the first woman to chart three titles in the top 10 simultaneously, as two new tracks join “We Found Love” in the upper tier: Drake’s “Take Care,” on which she guests, arrives at No. 4 (162,000) and her own “You Da One” opens at No. 9 (124,000). No artist had placed as many entries in the chart’s top 10 since a record six songs by Michael Jackson, led by “Thriller” at No. 2, ranked in the region the week of July 11, 2009, following his passing.
On the Hot 100, “Take Care” storms in as the chart’s highest debut at No. 9 (Rihanna's 21st top ten) and “You Da One” vaults 73-14 in its second chart week.

Rihanna - Rihanna Almost Cancelled Concert Due To Stress
28 November 2011
Rihanna nearly cancelled a concert in Ireland on Friday (25.11.11) due to stress.
The 'We Found Love' singer broke down shortly before the show in Dublin - part of her Loud Tour, which features over 100 dates - and was only talked around by a phone call to fellow singer Beyonce Knowles.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "She's just a young woman who just wants to have fun, but she was feeling pretty low.
"It's a mix of exhaustion and stress. She's been partying hard to take her mind off things, but there are days when she wakes up and doesn't even know where she is because of the travelling.
"It's no wonder she is feeling down."
Beyonce took time out in 2009 so she could spend time with her husband, rapper Jay-Z, and understands the pressures of being on a long tour and dealing with stress, as she has been performing and since she was a teenager.
The source added: "She knows Rihanna needs downtime or she'll burn out."
After her performance on Friday, Rihanna wrote online: "I'm so light-headed!"
On Thursday night (24.11.11), the singer had thrown a lavish thanksgiving feast in Ireland for her tour staff and entourage to celebrate the traditional US holiday of Thanksgiving, ordering food from a top French restaurant and celebrating in a private room of O'Donoghue's bar.
Rihanna had to cancel two shows in Sweden a month ago, as she was hospitalised with a bad case of flu. She was also thought to have been warned by doctors to curb her partying lifestyle.
Rihanna has 16 dates left on her Loud Tour, which concludes on December 22 in London.

RIHANNA AND MARILYN MONROE
Rihanna's meteoric rise to stardom is second only to that of Marilyn Monroe's. The similarity is amazing with both young ladies leading roller coaster life styles and wallowing in success, with everything they touch turning to gold. However, neither seemed to have budgetted for the stress and exhaustion of such a life style- the partying , the press etc.
Marilyn succumbed to the pressure which Elton John recorded for posterity in song - Candle in the Wind. Rihanna is fortunate in that she can look to Marilyn's life for a guide so as not to suffer a similar fate. However, should she ignore Marilyn's fate she is sure to arrive at the same destination. In such a case, Elton John will only have to change the name of the victim and Hollywood to Billboard but the rest of the song will be the same.(Nov 29,2011)
Candle in the Wind
Goodbye Norma Jean (Robyn Fenty)
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
While those around you crawled
They crawled out of the woodwork
And they whispered into your brain
They set you on the treadmill
And they made you change your name
chorus
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did
Loneliness was tough
The toughest role you ever played
Hollywood (Billboard) created a superstar
And pain was the price you paid
Even when you died
Oh the press still hounded you
All the papers had to say
Was that Marilyn (Rihanna) was found in the nude
[repeat chorus]
Goodbye Norma Jean (Robyn Fenty)
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
While those around you crawled
Goodbye Norma Jean (Robyn Fenty)
From the young man in the 22nd row
Who sees you as something more than sexual
More than just our Marilyn Monroe(Rihanna)
[repeat chorus]

Rihanna, a top beauty icon
Wed, December 28, 2011
LONDON - Barbadian Rihanna is fourth on a list of top beauty icons voted on by the British.
Kate Middleton has been voted the top beauty icon of 2011 - beating sister Pippa into second place.
Kate, who became the Duchess of Cambridge when she married Prince William in April, came out top in the poll of 3 000 women.
The 29-year-old Duchess has become recognised as increasingly style savvy throughout the year, appearing impeccably turned-out at various public occasions over the year.
In second place was Kate's younger sister Pippa, 28, who shot to worldwide fame after images of her derriere in her Sarah Burton maid-of-honour dress were circulated globally in the days following her sister's nuptials.
Third place in the Superdrug poll went to last year's winner Cheryl Cole, who continues to win admirers despite having kept a low profile since her departure from American X Factor.
Sara Wolverson, Superdrug Director of beauty, who commissioned the research, said: “What is fascinating is that four of the five celebrity women to appear in the top five are brunettes, which would indicate that while blondes may have more fun, brunettes are seen to be more beautiful.
Pop princess Rihanna and This Morning television presenter Holly Willoughby completed the top five beauty icons of 2011.
Seventh in the list is mother-to-be Beyonce who appears on the list for the first time, while Harry Potter's Emma Watson appears at number eight on the list.
With her pixie haircut, the young actress is the only woman in the top ten with short hair.
American singer and Mrs Russell Brand Katy Perry takes the number nine spot, cited for her quirky style, while mother-of-four and fashion icon Victoria Beckham completes the top ten. (Daily Mail)

Rihanna’s ads sexiest of 2011
Rihanna’s ads for Armani were hailed as the sexiest of the year in Advertising Age magazine. (Internet Image)Thu, December 29, 2011 - 12:07 AM
LONDON – In a year that saw pop singer Rihanna ejected from a farmer’s land for filming inappropriately sexual scenes, it must come as a relief to the Barbadian singer to discover there are still plenty of people out there who appreciate her more raunchy poses.
She may not have won over the rural folk, but the 23-year-old has captured the hearts of the ad world, which voted her sizzling adverts for Armani Underwear the sexiest of 2011.
The daring display was hailed the best of the year in a poll of advertising industry chiefs carried out by United States magazine Advertising Age.
The magazine rhapsodized about the We Found Love singer, saying she had never looked better.
“It’s Rihanna at her sexiest.
She’s never looked this good,” they said, adding: “She’s in amazing shape and the pictures are stunning.”
